Swipe tap sleep repeat explores contemporary society’s greatest narcissism. In the form of scenography and dance performance, this project reflects and transforms the everyday routines that are born from social media into an alternative world. A world characterised by the possibility to show or to be shown, where the ‘bad’ and the ‘ugly’ is blurred and smeared out in Photoshop and social media is a platform for self-curated exhibition — the rise of social media narcissism.
The scenography consists of an eclipse lamp, a photoshop-cloud room divider, a swiping-hand and a selfie-light.
Anna Koch and Arika Yamada were invited to explore the staged space that led to a 30 minute performance at artist-run spaceSkogen.
